Fort Collins’ Old Firehouse Books and Happy Lucky’s Teahouse occupy the space of the original 1881 firehouse

This historic building built in 1881 in downtown Fort Collins, Colorado serves as the design inspiration for the Town Square Firehouse in Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A.

Today, it is an independently run bookstore and attached teahouse, but during the turn of the century, it was the town’s firehouse: a Fort Collins landmark. Fort Collins is the hometown of Imagineer Harper Goff. While not an exact replica, it is clear that design elements were taken from this building and many others in the surrounding Old Town of Fort Collins, used by Goff as inspiration for the look of Disneyland‘s Main Street USA.
