The entrance to The Tam

Also known as The Tam, this Scottish themed restaurant was a frequent lunch spot for Walt and his artists in the 1930’s & 40’s. The restaurant’s timber framed facade is rumored to have inspired the design of Snow White’s cottage in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).

Posters in the lobby pay tribute to the connection and Walt’s favorite table, number 31, has a plaque on it designating the significance.

An original John Hench drawing signed by Walt hangs inside the restaurant

Walt and crew were also particularly fond of the restaurant’s outdoor patio, which was recently renovated.

He had a particular love of the patio. He requested that we build a glass enclosure so he could enjoy it all through the year. A lot of that early Disney animation work was done on cocktail napkins sitting around on the patio.
