The Walt Disney Family Museum is a museum in San Francisco dedicated to the life and legacy of Walt Disney which opened on October 1, 2009. The museum was created by a non-profit organization established by Disney’s heirs and not formally associated with the Disney company.
Among its exhibits are original parts of Walt’s Carolwood Pacific Railroad system, a scale model railroad Walt created for his Carolwood Drive home. One of the cargo cars on display is numbered 711, a photo of which is on display on the ground floor of Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Railroad Station.
