Known as “Walt’s Technicolor Dream House” due to the brightly colored rooms, this 2,443-square-foot private residence in Palm Springs was built for Walt in 1962 as an escape from the daily bustle of work life.
Walt was a member of the nearby Smoke Tree Ranch, where he owned two homes before this one. Walt was also a frequent visitor to the Indian Canyons Golf Resort, whose 2nd hole is literally located in the backyard. Walt personally donated a large, copper, lily pad-shaped fountain to the club that still operates today.
Though he passed away in 1966, this home remained in the Disney family until 2015 when it was sold for $650,000.
