Rock Cafe is a diner that first opened in 1939 along the historic Route 66. In 2001, John Lasseter and a crew from Pixar visited the cafe and was inspired by owner Dawn Welch‘s story. Dawn became the basis of Sally Carrera, the blue Porsche in Pixar’s Cars franchise. The cafe features Cars character cutouts outside and a vast amount of Pixar memorabilia lining the walls inside, including a number of signed posters and original artwork.
