Walt Disney World Post-Trip Suggestions from a Zero-Waste Perspective

Walt Disney World Post-Trip Suggestions from a Zero-Waste Perspective
Disney Parks Zero Waste Wandering

This post is just one part of our Complete Guide to a Fully Sustainable, Zero-Waste Walt Disney World Vacation where we cover all aspects of visiting WDW with zero-waste in mind.

Congrats! You’ve survived your zero-waste journey to The Most Magical Place On Earth! Zero-waste in Walt Disney World doesn’t have to stop when you get home, though. Put your MagicBands in a safe place for your next trip and read on.

Provide Feedback

Disney listens to and values feedback. It’s true. You may have been asked to take a survey after a phone call or been stopped in the parks for a few questions from a cast member with a tablet. Either way, definitely expect a survey e-mailed to you shortly after your trip. Take these seriously and provide your thoughts. They’ll ask you what you liked and what they can do better. Let them know honestly. Things that frustrate you, especially zero-waste frustrations, are likely to frustrate others. By providing this feedback, we can help shape further environmental efforts bigger and better than plastic straw and shopping bag bans!

If you don’t get a survey then reach out with a call (407-939-6104), email ([email protected]), or Tweet (@WDWToday).

If a certain Cast Member made an attempt to accommodate your request or go above-and-beyond the call of duty, feel free to Tweet @WDWToday with the hashtag #CastCompliment to recognize their efforts.

Getting involved and advocating for better choices and positive experiences will make a difference for everyone.

Offsetting Carbon Impact

When you get home (or even before you leave), estimate your carbon impact as best as you can. Carbon Fund and TerraPass offer calculators for this. Both organizations also offer you the ability to purchase carbon offsets from your trip (or even for the year). They do things like plant carbon-capturing trees and fund renewable energy efforts and methane capture projects, among other awesome initiatives.

These options are affordable and if everyone participated, we can help the globe meet net-zero carbon emissions, giving us a future to enjoy even more trips to Disney Parks.

Prepare For Your Next Trip

Disney is an addiction. If you aren’t already planning your next trip, we have doubts about your ability to have fun. Be sure to check back on our Planning a Zero-Waste Walt Disney World Vacation page as well as all of the posts of our Complete Guide to a Fully Sustainable, Zero-Waste Walt Disney World Vacation. We’re updating them regularly as things change and evolve.

For other planning tips, seek out digital guides and eBooks like the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World or subscribe to digital publications like WDW Magazine. Try listening to Disney podcasts (our favorites are The WDW Radio Show and The DIS Unplugged) and continue reading blogs like ours to help you get the most (errrr least??) out your next trip!
